Car rental pick up and drive from Managua to Selva Negra cloud forest located 87 miles (145 km) from Managua, near the city of Matagalpa at more than 4, 000 feet (1, 455 mts) above sea level. Originally a coffee farm called Hammonia by its German settlers, the farm evolved into a protected forest.

Drive from Selva Negra, Matagalpa to Leon City. The 2 hour and 20 minutes ride on the scenic road to León, borders the Xolotlán Lake or Lake Managua with and impressive view of Momotombo and Momotombito volcanoes. Once in the León area, the day gives you barely enough time to see it all

Breakfast. Drive from Leon City to Granada City. Granada is considered the oldest city in Central America founded in 1524 keeps as treasure its old colonial architecture. The main highway Managua-Granada is a scenic route as the majority of Nicaraguan roads. Drive from Granada City to San Juan del Sur. San Juan del Sur is located 88 miles (140 km) from Managua, 1 hour a 30 minutes away from Granada and only 30 minutes from Peñas Blancas, Costa Rican border. It has a little bit more than 20,000 habitants.

How to get to Nicaragua
You can find direct flights to Managua from the United States . Daily flights with Taca, Continental Airlines & American Airlines with a time flight of 2 hours and 15 minutes. You can also find flight arrangements to Managua and connections from Los Angeles , San Francisco , Dallas , Washington , New Orleans , New York , Mexico , Europe, Central America and South America .
The International Managua airport has is been recently remodeled to give visitors efficient service.
It is also possible to arrive to Managua by land departing from Honduras or Nicaragua
